The baldie is fled, long live the baldie!

The business (basically a CRM database) passed into better hands in 2012. These materials remain here for cannibalisation and amusement.

The baldie meanwhile has found pastures new: as a singing organ-grinder for your event in the UK, France, Belgium, the Netherlands or Spain! Town and country walking and study tours in Barcelona and the Western Med

Tarragona tours - Tarragona in 4 hours without feeling like a stupid tourist

Tarragona - Roman Tarraco - is by far the friendliest and most pleasant of the four Catalan provincial capitals and is a brilliant place for a relaxed and interesting wander. We'll take you to see the Roman, medieval and modernist sights - the 3rd century Roman walls, the 12th-14th century cathedral, various other medieval and later chapels, hospices, palaces, the Roman amphitheatre, the castle and the remains of the circus - but we'll also make sure you get to know the quiet little squares and (if you want) bars.

The principal optional extra for this walk is a trip out by public transport to see the massive Roman aqueduct (Pont del Diable/Pont del Moro/Puente del Diablo/Puente del Moro/Acueducto de les Ferreres). Ask for details.

Here's an alphabetical list of some of the sights you may see (depends on what you want/opening hours if you want to go into places) on the 4-hour tour:

  • 18th century law courts
  • Cathedral exterior
  • Chapel of St Paul
  • Hospice of St Magín
  • Conservative art nouveau on 19th century rambla
  • Jewish tombstones
  • Medieval grain store, market arcades, merchant and noble houses
  • Model & explanation of Roman Tarragona
  • Municipal slaughterhouse
  • Orphanage, with official maces etc
  • Remains of Roman amphitheatre, circus, theatre, provincial forum
  • Roman praetorium
  • Roman, medieval, British and 19th century walls and gates
  • The lives and peripatetic body parts of sundry saints, sinners (Pontius Pilate)
  • Various optional refreshment stops, including gypsy and Galician bars as well as mainstream tapas + drinks outfits
  • Vestiges of the Jewish quarter
  • Via Augusta
