Which side are they on?

Two of today’s stories:

  1. Lleida council refuses to name a street after local Guardia Civil, Jesús María Freixes Montes, murdered by ETA in 1986.
  2. Barcelona council announces it is to name a square after anarchist bank robber, Salvador Puig Antich, sentenced to death by a military court in 1974 for the killing whilst being detained of Guardia Civil, Francisco Anguas Barragán.

Both councils are governed by coalitions made up of Catalanista socialist, neo-fascist and neo-communist parties. Jules Bonnot would have been a celebrity here.

  1. Batman sez:

All killings of Guardias Civiles were tried by military courts because they are part of the military. It’s nothing special what happened to Puig Antich.
