Translator porn

News that pornstar Dolly Buster used to work as a translator for the Bundesgrenzschutz, the old German federal border guards, reminds me vaguely of translation and interpreting’s original Mata Hari, Malinche, who got naked with, and told all her people’s secrets to stout Cortez. Or, as Mexican national mythology has it, parented the first Mexican with him. (See also two-tongued serpents.)

   Border protection - wider than border protection, of course, and now called the Bundespolizei. Don’t know if the actual border guards were part of it.

   Forgive my ignorance. I used to take back paths across the border into Germany in order to avoid having to travel with a bloody great British passport, so we never really met up.

   The sneaky thing about these lot is that they are normally found further inland. It widens one’s concept of borders. Still, you would probably have spotted Dolly Buster.
