The Madrid bombings/the van in Alcalá de Henares

The socialists of the PSOE are going to slaughter the conservative and occasionally liberal PP in at least the next two sets of elections. This is not so much because the socialists are perceived as being competent or well-meaning as because the PP, which had a decent record in government, has clearly lost all interest in regaining power.

Central to, and symptomatic of, the right’s suicide is the lunatic conviction that the police, the judiciary and just about everyone except the pope are engaged in a Byzantine conspiracy to conceal The Truth about the Madrid bombings. Just as with those who believe against all evidence and all probability in the secret domination of the globe by Jews, there is little that can be done to help them, particularly as the bosses of the principal media sponsors of this farce, Pedro J Ramírez of El Mundo and Federico Jiménez Losantos of Libertad Digital, must know that the admission that editorial policy for the past two years has been nothing more than a reflection of apparently personal and clinical paranoia will probably cost them their jobs.
