Sounds like the Christians had a go at all-round prat, Leo Bassi, last night with an incendiary device in his dressing room, without causing any damage. Like a whole bunch of British standups still recycling late 80s gags, Bassi’s “anti-system comedy” is more about comfortable sloganising than humour, but one has to have some respect for a man who walks among 5000 evangelicals at a meeting in Rio with a big placard saying “I don’t believe in God.”
