My political ambitions

Trevor @ Thursday February 2nd 2006 16:34

If Montilla thinks that anyone from anywhere can be president of Bananalunya, then he’s obviously not smart enough to qualify himself. Here’s a copy posted by Ă“rdago of Francesc de Carreras’ LV article noting the astonishing absence of charnegos from the Catalan government. One of the bizarre paradoxes of exclusion of non-Catalan-born citizens from positions of real power here is that, while the government demands that Catalan–spoken habitually by less than 1% of EU citizens–be used in European institutions, Spanish–spoken habitually by more than 50% of Catalan citizens–has not been heard in most Catalan representative bodies for years. Since there is a scheme in these things, I’m trying to figure where guiris rate relative to charnegos. I would quite like an official car.
