Deep-fried chocolate sparrow

At bar Miramelindo in Barcelona

They do not serve dinner … but they do offer a chocolate mus or a sample of sorbet to enjoy.

I must say I’d go for the chocolate mus–mus being Dutch for “sparrow”, Dutch being “the new ethnic”, as they say1 –which I guess is made by stuffing the boidie with chocolate and then deep-frying it, resulting in a delicious, crunchy, low-fat version of the deep-fried Mars bar.

In less barbarous countries the tradition still exists, although no tweet is shredded in the process, providing yet more poorly-delineated support for my meta-is-better theory of human history (as if it needed it).

  1. Believe me. I know them.(bak (goeie?))
