more sport = more votes?

Although Spanish playing fields are not the 2m-deep clay solution of their English cousins, I’m still a bit surprised that Zapatero thinks he’s going to win votes with an education policy featuring less religion and more physical education. A reduction in religion has got to be welcome in a country in which religious education still consists largely of Roman Catholic indoctrination, and in which the established church exercises a large measure of indirect control over how other subjects are taught. But couldn’t they come up with anything except kid-on-kid violence to replace it?
