De andere dag las ik een artikel uit de jaren 60 waarin de auteur zich beklaagde over de betonrage. “Straks krijgen we betonbomen,” schreef hij ironisch, niet wetend dat boeren er allang gebruik van maakten om wonden dicht te plakken. In Texas wordt ook teer gebruikt, waarschijnlijk omdat die daarginds eenmaal goedkoper is, maar deze olijfboom is op traditionele modernistische wijze gerepareerd.
